Progression

This is a shot of my mug I created by hand in a pottery class a few years ago. This photo is very similar to another one of mine called "Warm Yourself" from 2011 but it has a completely different feel to it. I like that I'm able to control more of the outcome of my photographs as time passes. College has kept me so busy these past few months that I haven't done much shooting but winter break is coming soon. I will be doing an immense amount of shooting over break to kind of make up for lost time this semester and get ready for photo 1 starting in January. There's so much energy that I put behind photography, pushing myself over and over again to find something to shoot or conceptualize. The hardest thing for me during this first semester in college was having to spend so much time away from photographing. It's not something I like to turn on and off, people don't like to stop breathing. The only way I can live my life is with a camera. This is how I breathe.
